It is important for riders to understand the physical effect that their aids have directly on the horse’s body as a whole, and realise that incorrect aids (such as backwards use of the hand) can make it impossible for the horse to become supple through the back and able to work correctly and also, that long-term use of such aids can lead to serious lameness and behavioural problems.
For this reason to know how the horse use is body to perform can help riders and trainers to obtain a better performance with a sound horse.

È importante per il cavaliere capire l’effetto fisico che gli aiuti provocano al corpo dl cavallo nel suo insieme, e sapere che un uso sbagliato degli aiuti (come ad esempio l’uso contrario della mano) può rendere difficile o impossibile per il cavallo lavorare con un buon uso della schiena e in modo corretto. Nel lungo termine, questo lavoro sbagliato gli può provocare zoppie  traumi o problemi comportamentali.
Per questo motivo conoscere come si muove il cavallo  può aiutare addestratori e cavalieri ad ottenere migliori risultati con un cavallo sano.
